Mrs. McGee and Mr. Barnes are the Junior BETA sponsors for the 2019-2020 school year. New students to CMS and students interested in joining BETA will be able to apply for membership in January. Announcements will be made at that time.

If you are interested in BETA at CMS, then we accept new applications after the first semester of this school year. Make sure that you listen to the announcements in January regarding the application window if you are interested in being a new member.
Our first meeting will be August 29th. There will also be a BETA parent meeting that evening.

The Junior BETA Club is pleased to partner with the Heartwood Center with their food drive. We have attached a list of the needed items for this food drive.
The food collected will benefit our students.
The collection will start next week and will continue until March 15th and will be collected on March 16th.

We are in the home stretch for convention. We leave the morning on February 13th during school and estimate that we will return the same day around 8 pm. Your convention shirts have been ordered.
We were unable to do an overnight this year due to lack of chaperones.

We have been asked to participate in the Bowling Green Christmas Parade on December 16th. We need to know by December 1st if you are able to participate. We are also looking for parent volunteers to participate in the parade.
We will meet on December 14th after school to prepare for this.
The meeting for December 6th has been cancelled due to today’s meeting.
Paperwork for the convention was passed out today. Please check your student email account for copies of the paperwork that was passed out.
At the beginning of October students were given fundraising forms for Dutch Mill Bulbs and for Krispy Kreme donuts.
The order forms are due on Monday, October 30.

Are you interested in attending the Leadership Summit on November 2nd and 3rd? We have the opportunity to take 8 students to represent Caroline Middle School at the Summit.
In order to be considered you need to write an essay. The essay must have 5 total paragraphs. One introductory paragraph, a closing paragraph and three supporting paragraphs in the middle.
The topic is to identify a need in your community. What can we do to support the need? Can it be a service project?
If you are chosen then the cost to attend will be $130 for students and $80 for chaperones.
Essays are due by September 20th.
The convention theme this year is “BETA on My Mind.” If you are interested in entering your T-Shirt design then we need it by the next meeting.
The T-Shirt is judged on Interpretation and Illustration of the Theme, Craftsmanship (Workmanship put into creating the banner), and Originality, Color, Contrast, & Creativity.
